Adam Wilk
Founder & Executive Director
Adam Wilk is the Founder and Executive Director of The Amanda Foundation, a non-profit organization he started in 2019 inspired by his sister, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer two years earlier. When working through the process of building the foundation, it was at the request of his sister that all donations go toward funding support functions for those suffering from effects of the treatment.

Adam has dedicated his life to inspiring the greatness in others. His passion for leading those around him to achieve success outside the scope of what is conventionally believed to be accomplishment is ingrained to the foundation of his personal drive to always be his best. Adam intuitively sees the best in those around him, encourages positive development of each individual on the team, brings them together into a coherent whole and drives to achieve the team’s personal and professional goals.

All of this has not been done without adversity. During his time playing football at the University of Illinois, Adam experienced the hardships that came with rehabilitation. A severe knee injury sidelined
him for the entirety of his junior season however this did not stop him from achieving his goals. After major reconstructive surgery Adam was able to make his way back to the field his senior year, letter and finish his playing career with those he started the journey with four years prior. Since his surgery, Adam has achieved his personal goals of summitting Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park and hiking various trails around the country.
Professionally, Adam has leaned upon his ability to organize, execute and inspire to achieve great milestones throughout his career. In 2019 he led United Scrap Metal’s United in Safety program to their first recognition as one of America’s Safest Companies by EHS Today. Prior to his time managing the organization’s compliance program, Adam spent time in operations where he led strategic growth initiatives in the areas of productivity, quality and safety. Through his career Adam has also been an advocate of community service by initiating and leading projects such as United Scrap Metal’s Parks & Recreation Day. This project is scheduled annually around Earth Day and provides the team with a volunteer opportunity to give back to the community by cleaning area parks around each United Scrap
Metal operating location.

Adam currently resides in Arlington Heights, IL with his wife, Erica and son Beau.
